Dirt Professional Excavation : raig Cherry, the driving force behind D.I.R.T. Island Excavating Inc. out of Port Alberni, brings “a whole lot of experience” to the job site. For insight into Cherry’s commitment to his trade one need look no further than his business name. “D.I.R.T. stands for Dependability, Integrity, Reliability and Thoughtfulness.”Born and raised in Saskatoon, the easy-going entrepreneur moved to Calgary and spent 16 years there working in the construction and excavation business. Then followed by 10 years working in the oil and gas industry. In 2014 Cherry moved to Port Alberni to call Vancouver Island home. Though he is lives in Port Alberni DIRT Island Excavation services clients from the West Coast to Nanaimo including Parksville, Qualicum, Lantzville, Port Alberni and surrounding areas. DIRT Island Excavation is currently running an E50 Bobcat Mini Excavator, a Bobcat S130 Skid Steer, a couple single axle (six yard) dump trucks, a triple axle dump trailer, and his favorite a Doosan 160 Excavator, along with a slew of attachments. There isn’t any kind of excavation job DIRT Island Excavation can’t do from site maintenance, clearing, preparation, snow removal, demolition, retaining walls, water lines, perimeter drains, backfilling, grade preparation, concrete removal, you name it.
