Turf Hawaii : Dean Maruyama started Turf Hawaiʻi in 2005, after a long career in golf course management and landscaping. He has been a supervisor at Nanea Golf Club, Hualalai Golf Course and Hapuna Golf Course. He also founded Maruyama Landscaping in Kona. Prior to moving to Kona, he worked at the Kekaha Sugar Plantation on Kauai for 16 years. Dean runs a family-owned and -operated business. He works alongside his wife, their adult children and their children’s spouses. Together, they provide the highest quality turf grass to landscapers and homeowners on Hawaiʻi Island.
